For Steel Beams Ascot, talk to Ace Posts and Beams. Ascot's big blocks let owners do what smaller suburbs can't: open up the back, add a level and build in under a high-set Queenslander, often in one project. Every one of those moves puts new load on old timber. We cut and pre-drill PFCs and universal beams to your engineer's drawings at Eagle Farm, a few minutes away.
A typical Ascot job runs in three moves: open the back of the house, add or reshape a level, and build in the space underneath. The steel for each is different, but the engineer's schedule usually lists them together. Send us the whole schedule at the start. We'll tag every member by location, such as rear beam, upper-floor trimmer or under-house bearer, so your crew isn't sorting a pile of near-identical lengths.
Older Ascot timber often has to be propped and cut back before new steel goes in. Members that arrive cut and drilled mean the props stay up for less time, and the bolt and plate holes are made on the ground, not with a drill held overhead in a half-opened roof.
Extensions on large blocks mean long beams, so the steel becomes a real line in the budget. We price from the drawings for free, so owners and builders can see the steel cost before locking in the rest of the contract.

Every finish is on the list: raw, prime painted, hot-dipped galvanised, and pre-drilled. Beams that end up inside walls and ceilings are normally primed. Posts and bearers left exposed under a high-set house or a covered deck go galvanised.
Typically three days from order. With several trades on a big site at once, we work to the date your builder needs the steel, not just the earliest we can make it.
Each member is cut to your drawings and drilled for its connections before it leaves, so nothing needs trimming with a grinder beside a finished pool, garden or established tree.
We'll talk through finishes, sequencing and delivery in plain terms. Member sizes, propping and certification stay with your engineer and certifier.
Trade pricing on every order. A whole extension's steel, from rear beams to under-house posts, can be quoted as one package.
For extending, raising and building under Ascot's larger homes, our stock lines and options span:
Ascot orders often pair a long beam for a rear opening with galvanised posts or rolled hollow section columns beneath, plus plates and bracing to tie it together. If the drawings aren't done yet, we can help arrange architectural and engineering plans, and soil testing.
Mostly steel for larger residential projects: beams for opening the rear of a Queenslander, framing for an upper level, and posts and bearers for building in underneath. We also supply builders working on pool pavilions and garages on the same blocks.
Yes. Send the engineer's schedule and we'll cut every member to it, with holes and plates drilled to match. Tell us if a beam has to be carried through the house rather than around it, because that can limit the length that fits through a door.
Parallel flange channels and universal beams across the residential and light-commercial range, plus steel and rolled hollow section columns. Anything not on the shelf we make to measure.
We offer raw, primed and galvanised steel, and we can pre-drill any of it. Where a member will sit inside a wall or roof, primed is usually enough. Under the house, on a deck or near a pool, go galvanised. Ask us to mark each member so a galvanised post and a primed beam don't get swapped on site.
Typically three days from order, with galvanising adding time. If the beams have to be there the day the roof comes off, give us that date and we'll work back from it.
Both. Ascot streets are wide, but driveways into big blocks can be long and gated. Tell us about gate widths and where the truck can stand. Builders can also collect from Eagle Farm.
Ascot is one of the closest suburbs to our Eagle Farm branch, so it sits at the short end of our delivery runs. We supply the wider inner north and beyond, and owners with more than one property can put them on one quote. Suburbs we regularly supply include:
Ascot takes its name from the English racecourse, and horse racing has shaped the suburb since the 19th century, with Eagle Farm Racecourse on its doorstep. Large timber homes on generous blocks, many of them Queenslanders, fill the streets running back from Racecourse Road. Many of those houses are now being extended, raised or built in under rather than replaced, and that is where structural steel comes in.
Send the engineer's schedule, the finish for each member and the delivery address, with any gate or driveway limits. We'll quote the steel and confirm a supply date. Request your free Steel Beams Ascot quote today.
